Thomas E. Luria
Real Estate and Development
Thomas Luria, a third generation builder, has developed and built commercial and residential property in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties since 1977, starting with office and industrial buildings in Camarillo, Carpinteria, and Ventura.
In 1985, Mr. Luria completed his first major residential project with the development of Morgan Park, a small subdivision that attracted a diversity of middle income purchasers and where many young couples have now raised their families. In 1989, he expanded his residential portfolio into custom homes in prestigious Montecito. These included residences on Park Lane, East Valley Road, Olive Mill Road, and the gated community of Ennisbrook. In 1996, he completed a luxury condominium project one block from the beach known as Antigua Pines. The owners of Luria residential properties have all prospered from the purchase of these homes, and many of the original purchasers still reside in them. Contemporaneous with these residential developments, Mr. Luria built office buildings in Santa Barbara and Goleta.
In 2008, Mr. Luria developed One Twenty One, a premier mixed use office and residential condominium development in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. He subsequently completed an extensive office/industrial remodel of 618 E. Gutierrez Street and a wholesale commercial renovation of 506 Chapala Street, a 1931 Art Deco structure built in 1931 by Firestone. Finally, 1309 State Street, designed in 1934 by renown Santa Barbara architects Edwards and Plunkett, was acquired and repurposed into a first floor art gallery and second floor luxury loft apartment.
